Holidoodle / Install / Google Tag Manager
4 minutes · Google Tag ManagerAdd Holidoodle to Google Tag Manager
Paste one line once. From then on your Google Tag Manager site greets each visitor on their own country's holidays, in their language, with your logo.
Requirements: Free (GTM's container snippet must already be installed on your site)
1. Copy your line
Sign in to your Holidoodle dashboard to get your key, or use the line below and replace YOUR_KEY.
<script src="https://holidoodle.dev/embed.js" data-key="YOUR_KEY" async></script>
2. Paste it in Google Tag Manager
- Open your container at tagmanager.google.com and click Tags → New.
- Click Tag Configuration and choose Custom HTML.
- Paste the full script tag into the HTML box.
- Click Triggering and choose All Pages (Page View).
- Name the tag, e.g. 'Holidoodle', and click Save.
- Click Preview and open your site to confirm the tag fires on page view.
- Click Submit (top right), then Publish.
Where the code goes: Custom HTML tag fired on the All Pages trigger.
Good to know
- Nothing goes live until you Submit and Publish the container version.
- GTM inserts the script after the page loads, so the widget appears a moment later than a hard-coded tag.
- Consent Mode or cookie banners can block Custom HTML tags until visitors consent. If you use consent settings, mark the tag as not requiring consent, or accept cookies when testing.
- Ad blockers that block GTM also block the widget.
3. Check it works
In Tag Assistant (Preview), check the tag under 'Tags Fired' on the Container Loaded / Page View event, and check DevTools → Network for embed.js.
To see a holiday right now, open your site with ?hd_country=TR&hd_date=2026-10-29 at the end of the address. Any country and date work.
