Add Holidoodle to WordPress

Paste one line once. From then on your WordPress site greets each visitor on their own country's holidays, in their language, with your logo.

Requirements: Any self-hosted WordPress. On WordPress.com a paid plan is required (Personal, Premium, Business or Commerce), because free sites can't install plugins.

1. Copy your line

Sign in to your Holidoodle dashboard to get your key, or use the line below and replace YOUR_KEY.

<script src="https://holidoodle.dev/embed.js" data-key="YOUR_KEY" async></script>

2. Paste it in WordPress

  1. Option A, our plugin: download the plugin .zip from your dashboard. Don't unzip it.
  2. In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
  3. Click Upload Plugin at the top, choose the .zip file, then click Install Now.
  4. When you see 'Plugin installed successfully', click Activate Plugin.
  5. Open the plugin's settings page, paste your key and save.
  6. Option B, the free WPCode plugin: go to Plugins → Add New Plugin, search 'WPCode', click Install Now, then Activate.
  7. Go to Code Snippets → Header & Footer.
  8. Paste the script tag into the Footer box (or Header).
  9. Click Save Changes (top right).

Where the code goes: plugin does it automatically; with WPCode use the Footer box (just above </body>).

Good to know

3. Check it works

Open the site in an incognito window, view the page source and search for 'embed.js', or check DevTools → Network for embed.js returning 200.

To see a holiday right now, open your site with ?hd_country=TR&hd_date=2026-10-29 at the end of the address. Any country and date work.
